HI, I’M SAMANTHA.
It’s a wonderful to meet you. I am passionate about local government and public policy, an outreach coordinating expert, and a public affairs specialist.
Currently, I live in Killeen, TX, (an hour north of Austin) with my husband and Australian Shepherd. I recently graduated from Indiana University – Bloomington’s Master program in Public Affairs, with an emphasis in Policy Analysis.
Through the MPA program, I tackled courses such as Local Government Management, Public Program Management & Contracting, Benefit Cost Analysis, Public Finance & Budgeting, Public Management Economics, and Statistical Analysis for Effective Decision Making. These courses allowed me to gain exceptional experience and knowledge, including a willingness to work outside of regular hours, attention to detail and deadlines, and strong oral and written communication skills.
Additionally, I am a former student of the University of Kansas. I graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Journalism (News and Information), a Bachelor of Arts in Environmental Studies, a minor in Public Policy, with a Global Awareness Program Certification and with University Honors.
As I have grown through my time in both university and on the job, I have gained invaluable experience in budgetary work, using problem solving techniques, analyzing public policy, working with top officials, event planning, and interacting with diverse communities.
I’m excited about where I have come from and about continuing on so that I can influence this world in the best possible way. If you are interested in working together, whether on a social justice issue, social media, putting together a political event, or simply want to drop a line to say hello, please do not hesitate to email me.
